First printing in GreekEditio princeps, a wide-margined copy of the handsomely printed first edition in the original Greek, providing a comprehensive history of the Jews from Creation to the end of the war with Rome (70 CE). The printed work is taken from manuscripts in the library of Diego Hurtado de Mendoza, for whom the editor Arlenius was librarian. The present copy matches the rarer of two variants (based on the spelling of one word in the colophon) given by Adams.

Folio (319 x 217 mm). Contemporary blind-stamped pigskin over wooden boards, metal clasps and cornerpieces, spine in compartments and with two later leather labels (one chipped with loss), later marbled endpapers.
