Adam Douglas presents this first edition, large paper copy, from the family library of James Butler, second duke of Ormond (1665–1745), apparently bound for presentation. Clarendon’s account of the events in Ireland after the death of Charles I, the supplement to his famous History of the Rebellion and Civil Wars in England (1702–4), had previously circulated in manuscript only.
