William Shakespeare, The First Folio, 1623

Shakespeare’s First Folio was published by John Heminges and Henry Condell – two of Shakespeare’s closest friends and fellow actors from the King’s Men acting company. Without their efforts, it is thought that half of the 36 plays in the volume may have otherwise been lost forever.

Our very own Pom Harrington, Owner, and Adam Douglas, Senior Specialist, speak about the significance of this landmark moment, with insights from the Professor of Shakespeare Studies at the University of Oxford, Emma Smith.
